WestPointe Title was founded in 1995 by attorney Jody Thibaut. In 2024 it became affiliated with Commerce Title and has operated as an affiliate company, run by local attorney Ryan Laurent.

Leadership
Ryan A. Laurent
Ryan A. Laurent is the managing attorney and licensed title insurance agent at West Pointe Title Company.
Born and raised in New Roads, Ryan attended Catholic High of Pointe Coupee, received his B.S. in Environmental Management Systems with a concentration in Resource Conservation from LSU, and from there he went on to graduate from Southern University Law Center in 2008.
After receiving his Juris Doctor degree Ryan began working in the environmental field conducting assessments by sampling and mapping oil production sites for litigation purposes. He also spent time as an ADA Compliance Inspector, an on-site nuclear gauge operator for fly-ash landfills at Entergy, and did work as a DOTD Engineer Inspector conducting oversight and testing for state highway projects in the WBR area.
Ryan’s impressive background doesn’t stop there. Before taking over West Pointe Title full time in 2024 he practiced family law specializing in complex community property litigation.
Ryan prides himself on being a sole parent to a wonderful and smart daughter, and when he is not enjoying time with her you can find him out hunting or enjoying a concert.
